I love to paint massive walls to make a space for creative activity, whether it’s a classroom, a stage, or a studio.

When I was a Primary teacher, I was allowed to line the classroom walls with thick paper so I could turn the classroom into a forest, a medieval castle interior, or an Edwardian child’s nursery complete with period furniture and toys (on loan from the local museum).

Design Projects

I designed sets for the local theatre. I could play freely with paint and flats to create scenes which would move and transform the stage. Costumes and masks, collaborating with the director and the actors, opened up creative opportunities.
